Can my child to attend classes at any of your four locations?

Yes!  You can attend classes at any of our four locations.  No need to call to let us know.  You can show up and train in Berlin, Meriden, Middlebury, or Plantsville!

At what age can by child start?

Our classes are best suited for children 4 and older.  They need to be able to hold focus on a teacher/instructor for a few minutes at a time and also have the gross motors skills to do specific movements in class.

Do I have to pay monthly or am I able to pay weekly as well?

You can do either!  You are able to pay weekly or monthly.  You can select this option when you initially sign up and have the ability to change it by email or speaking with our office staff.

What is Tang Soo Do?

Tang Soo Do is a Korean martial arts form that can trace its roots back to the early 600s.  The WTSDA (World Tang Soo Do Association) was created and has had 3 Grandmasters - Grandmaster Shin, Grandmaster Beaudoin, and our current Grandmaster Strong. One of the most famous people to practice Tang Soo Do is Chuck Norris.

Belt tests are normally quarterly.  They are normally scheduled for March, June, September, ad December.  Black Belt testing is bi-annually happening in February and in August.

I took Tang Soo Do a while ago but would like to start it up again, do I have to start back at a white belt?

We are so glad to have you back in Tang Soo Do!  Upon your return, we will do an assessment of your skills and knowledge.  Depending on how long you have been away, we may put you at a lower rank and ask you to test up to a higher rank or to the rank you left at.  You can talk with your instructor if you have any questions.

I am in my 40s (or 50s, 60s, 70s or older!), am I too old to join?

Absolutely NOT!  We love to have students of all ages. We currently have some students in their 70s! Each of our locations has an adult class that caters specifically to adults of any age.  We have instructors and even Masters that started in their 30s/40s/50s and still take class and teach!

Will my kids learn any Korean while taking Tang Soo Do?

Absolutely!  Even our youngest tigers and dragons can count to 10 in Korean!  We also learn lots of other words and body parts throughout the progression from white belt to black belt and beyond!
